Natasha Sommer is an emerging artist who lives and works on Gadigal land. Her practice is concerned with the relationship between the real and the unreal, and the distinction placed between the art object and the ‘real’ object. Her work is framed within the still life tradition and playfully delights in its inherently self-questioning nature. Sommer primarily works from life, exploring these ideas sculpturally through craft practices, modelling, and painting.
Natasha Sommer is a graduate from the National Art School, and previously trained as a costume maker.
